Prep often dies here: the math is fine somewhere else, then Word or PowerPoint eats the structure—or you’re stuck pasting a screenshot.
Microsoft 365 Word can take LaTeX linear format (UnicodeMath too). The reliable pattern: preview somewhere that shows layout, then paste.
What I do
- Finish the structure in the formula editor and glance at the preview.
- Copy LaTeX.
- In Word’s equation box, switch to LaTeX mode and paste (menu names vary by version).
- Same idea in PowerPoint for equation objects. Screenshots are a last resort—keep a source copy for revision two and three.
Gotchas
Complex matrices and some macros may not survive Word. Confirm in the editor first. For handouts you’ll edit later, keep the LaTeX—screenshots alone age badly.
If you need to change a parameter live in class, project visualization instead of fighting the slide.
