Points often disappear for layout, not wrong math: cramped inline expressions, uneven multi-line blocks, tiny parentheses, the same quantity written two ways.
Run this before you hit submit.
Pre-submit
- Key results in display, not buried in a paragraph.
- Multi-line work in
align—don’t stack bare display equations with wild spacing. - Parentheses that grow with big fractions (
\left...\right, or check delimiters in the editor). - Text in subscripts via
\text{}. - Consistent symbols—don’t mix (x) and (X); pick one derivative style.
- Preview first in the formula editor, then copy.
Writing order
Structure in your head → template in the editor → copy LaTeX → paste into Word / Markdown / Overleaf.
For geometry or functions that need a figure, grab a screenshot from visualization after changing parameters, and note the values in an appendix.
