Limits
Watch (f(x)) as (x) nears a point, then write:
\lim_{x \to a} f(x) = L
Derivatives
Think tangent slope / instantaneous rate first, then:
f'(a) = \lim_{h \to 0} \frac{f(a+h)-f(a)}{h}
